The decision to undergo cataract surgery is one that should not be taken lightly. Cataract surgery involves the permanent removal of the natural lens of the eye and replacement with an artificial intraocular lens (IOL). Cataract symptoms generally worsen with time, but it may be hard to know when to seek cataract surgery.
