Although LASIK is an outpatient treatment, it requires a steady and experienced hand. To begin, numbing eye drops are administered so you don’t feel pain or discomfort during your surgery. The entire process takes about 12-13 minutes to complete. During the procedure, a small flap will be made on the surface of your eye so the laser can access and reshape your cornea. This will allow your eye to properly reflect light to your retina, resulting in clearer vision. Once completed, the flap is then replaced and will heal naturally during the recovery process.
