Preparing for LASIK Surgery

preparing for LASIK - Pensacola LASIK surgeon If you have decided to undergo LASIK in Pensacola, there are steps you can take to prepare. By following these steps, you can optimize your LASIK recovery, and ensure the best possible outcome.

During your LASIK consultation, you will get personalized instructions on how to best prepare for your procedure based on your particular circumstances. Here are some general guidelines Dr. Walton gives to all of his LASIK patients:

  • Stop wearing contact lenses at least six days before your consultation. This ensures that the cornea is stable and the LASIK process can proceed.
  • Avoid makeup and cosmetics for the day of your surgery. You may also get special instructions on how to clean your eyelashes for the days leading up to your surgery.
  • Arrange for a ride home after your surgery. You won’t be able to drive right after your procedure, and you may need some help getting around for the first few hours as the medications wear off.

Please contact Dr. Chris Walton using the form at the right side of the page or call 251-341-3385 today to schedule your free LASIK consultation and diagnostic exam. Dr. Walton serves patients in Mobile, Alabama and Pensacola, Florida, as well as the entire Gulf Coast region.
